Choosing the right work · 29 September 2026
Does AI visibility replace SEO?
No. For a local service business, AI visibility adds another way to examine how prospective customers discover and assess you. It belongs alongside the search foundations your business already needs.
Where the work overlaps
Clear service pages, accurate business information, verifiable expertise and useful content help people assess your business. Google states that foundational SEO best practices also apply to its AI search features. See Google’s official guidance.
What the AI visibility review adds
A defined review records how a business appears in answers to selected buyer questions. It can reveal missing mentions, inaccurate descriptions, competitors that appear and sources worth investigating. The result is a sample of answers at a particular time, not a stable ranking or market-share measure.
Where cold outreach fits
Outreach begins a conversation with a selected prospect. Search and AI visibility address discovery when someone is already looking for information. They serve different purposes. Whether either is worth funding depends on your audience, offer, economics and ability to handle enquiries.
Choose a fix before a large programme
If the evidence points to one unclear service page, scope that page. If it reveals several connected problems across discovery, enquiry handling and booking, a wider implementation may be appropriate. The proposal should follow the findings.
Measure the stages separately
- Visibility: mentions, citations and recommendations in the recorded checks.
- Response: website visits and identifiable enquiries.
- Business outcomes: qualified enquiries, attended appointments and verified sales.
Report missing attribution honestly. A change in one stage does not prove that it caused a change in another.
